Once again the Perth Mint in Western Australia are among the first to release their next year's coins. Each year the design of their gold nugget series changes. This year it shows a kangaroo which looks to us as though it is playing cricket. Perhaps the subtle message conveyed by this coin is that in Australia even the wildlife can play cricket, and England can stop dreaming about ever getting The Ashes back again.
