Silver Antoniniani of Balbinus & Pupienus
The Roman Senate appointed two senators Balbinus and Pupienus as joint emperors. They were not universally popular, and were disposed of in the traditional manner by the Praetorian Guards after 98 days on July 29th 238 A.D.
If we adopted the same methods with modern politicians, it would make them work much harder to be accountable to their electorates!
