Obverse of Nerva Silver Denarius

Obverse of Nerva Silver Denarius

98 - Coin of the Year - 98 A.D.

Silver Denarius of Nerva
Although this coin is undated, it could only have been issued in 98 AD, as we can tell from the legend (inscription) on the obverse.
The obverse legend reads: IMP NERVA CAES AUG PM TR P II COS III PP.
This was the last year of Nerva's short reign, which began in 96 AD
Born in the Etruscan town of Narnia on November 8th, 35 AD, one would expect to there should be chronicles of his life and times!
The reverse shows clasped hands in front of a legionary standard, and the legend CONCORDIA EXERCITUUM (in agreement with the army).
