Sometimes called "Year of the Mouse", the last one was in 1996, and ran from 19th February 1996 to 6th February 1997. We show a 1996 one ounce gold bullion coin from the Perth Mint in Australia. Perth Mint call it a mouse rather than a rat. The next rat year will start on 7th February 2008 and run until 25th January 2009.
